Dr. Jyoti Anand Kode holds expertise in the field of tumor immunology, stem cells and cancer. She is currently working as a Principal Investigator and senior scientist at the Kode Lab, Tumor Immunology & Immunotherapy Group, Advanced Centre of Treatment, Research & Education in Cancer (ACTREC), Tata Memorial Centre, India. She has contributed significantly towards understanding role of immune cells, soluble plasma immune markers in cancer diagnostics, prognostics, stem cell immunobiology, transplant immunology and regenerative medicine. She has also been working on elucidating importance of formulations/ products/ nanocomposites derived from natural sources in developing cancer therapeutics.
Her current research is focused on understanding innate immune inflammasome pathways in leukemia, lymphomas and oral cancers. She is a recipient of Dr L Sanghvi Oral Presentation Award through Mumbai Hematology Group and also recipient of Dr Jaju Award through Indian Association of Cancer Research. She has completed and also have many research projects ongoing funded by government agencies viz. ICMR, Ministry of AYUSH, and Indian Co-operative Oncology Network (ICON). She has been recently awarded SERB Power (Promoting Opportunities For Women in Exploratory Research) program grant for Women. She has published her research in various international and national peer-reviewed journals and books.
She has been an invited reviewer for more than 25 national and international journals. She has been a part of few published and applied patents. Dr. Kode has mentored dissertation thesis work of many M.Sc./ M.Tech. /B.Tech and currently mentoring Ph.D. students in India. She is invited co-guide for students of MD (Ayurveda) and PhD (Ayurveda). She has been on proposal review board of Ministry of AYUSH, Delhi; BRNS, Mumbai; SERB, Delhi, RGSTC, Government of Maharashtra and KSCSTE, Government of Kerala. She has been actively engaged in conducting workshops and seminars for spreading knowledge to students/ teachers/ scientists/ clinicians and corporate members in the field of Tumor Immunology.
She is a life member of many scientific societies (Immuno-Oncology Society of India; Society for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (India) STERMI; Mumbai Immunology Group; Indian Association of Cancer Research; Mumbai Hematology Group; Indian Immunology Society and editorial board member of WJSC and International Journal of Hematology Research. organizing various educational seminars, symposia and scientific workshops for creating awareness in field of immunology & allied fields amongst college students/ teachers, academicians and corporate scientists.
