Dr. Lal received Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He was an Assistant Professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York City, USA, before returning to India in the year 2010. Dr. Lal’s Laboratory is interested in understanding the cellular and molecular mechanism of immune tolerance.
His laboratory is investigating the role of neuroimmune communication in Autoimmunity and Cancer. He has published 59 papers, 3 book chapters and presented his work in about >160 national and international meetings. He received several national and international awards including Ramalingaswami Fellowship and Innovative Young Biotechnologist Award from Department of Biotechnology, and Swarnjayanti Fellowship from Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
