Joshy Jacob

Dr. Jacob grew up in Southern India, where he did his primary education and moved to the United States for higher education.  He received his BS degree from the University of Texas and Ph.D. from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. Dr. Jacob then did a 6-year post-doctoral fellowship in Dr. David Baltimore’s laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He joined Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, as a faculty, and he currently serves as a tenured Professor. Areas of research interests focus on (a) developing novel antivirals against SARS Coronavirus-2, Dengue, and Influenza viruses, and (b) understanding antibody responses to viruses.

He lives in Atlanta with his children and a dog named Charlie.
