Her research focuses on biology of diseases associated with an abnormal T Cell Immunity. With research experience in the field of parasitology, thymus biology and T cells, her group is interested in deciphering the mechanisms underlying an altered peripheral T cell immune response with possible involvement of thymic changes in specific disease models viz infectious diseases, autoimmune diseases and different patho-physiological conditions with immune-suppression and/or overt immune activation. Ongoing projects focus on the infectious disease, Leishmaniasis and an autoimmune disease, Psoriasis. Long term goal of our group is to understand the T cell defects in these diseases and come up with knowledge driven strategies for immune-reconstitution and immune-therapeutics.
