Dr Meera Sharma holds expertise in the field of immunodiagnostics and intellectual property rights(IPR) protection. She is currently GM(IPR & Biomedical Technology) with Sonani group of industries. She is Registered Patent Agent, Scientific Advisor with Indian Patent Office and Facilitator of Patents & Designs with Indian Patent Office, Gujarat Technical University(GTU), MS University, Sumandeep Vidyapeeth University, Parul University and Auro University. She is IPR Committee member of SGCCI, Gujarat. She is Mentoring various startups under National Innovation Mission of India. She is listed with World Intellectual Property Organisation(WIPO) as Patent Landscape Search Report provider. She is also Certified Internal Auditor Auditor (ISO 9001:2015 QMS, ISO13485:2016 Medical Devices, EC Directive 98/79/EC(Refresher Course) and Contract Research Administrator whereby she manages clinical trials of new drug formulations.

She is gold medalist, recipient of various awards like outstanding merit fellowship of PGIMER, Chandigarh, Women Scientist Scholarship by TIFAC, scholarship by WIPO, Geneva for WIPO-UNISA IP SPECIALISATION PROGRAMME offered by University of South Africa (UNISA) and IPR Leadership award by Social Talks and Niti Aayog.

She started her career with understanding of immune mechanisms in typhoid with and without perforation. Thereafter joining diagnostic industry she developed exhaustive panel as per WHO requirement for pre qualification of Vibrio cholerae diagnostic kit. She was also involved in development of immunodiagnostic kits for infectious diseases. She has published her research in international journals. She developed and revised ‘Information for Use’ for all the diagnostic kits of Arkray Healthcare Pvt Ltd. as ‘Technical Editor’ and is also ‘Reviewer’ for ‘Journal of Engineering Research and Sciences’ and Springer publication.

She has gained expertise in Intellectual Property management, enforcement and prosecution by various national and international courses on IPR by NALSAR, Hyderabad, FICCI, NPTEL, Korea Intellectual Property Organisation(KIPO) and WIPO respectively. She is actively involved in conducting IPR Awareness programs in various Institutes/Universities. She has been invited speaker on various national & international forums for IPR related issues. She has filed more than 100 patents & Design patents and has got many of the granted patents commercialised also. 

She is life member of Indian Immunology Society, International Union of Immunological Society, International Intellectual Property Law Association, Global Intellectual Property Convention and Patent Agent Association of India.
