Prof Naresh Sachdeva is in-charge of the Molecular Immunology laboratory at the Department of Endocrinology, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India. Dr Sachdeva received his basic training in Immunology and Molecular biology from PGIMER and University of Miami, FL, USA and has been a visiting Scientist at the St Vincent’s Institute of Medical Research, Melbourne, Australia (Jan-Mar 2016). His research is mainly focussed on pathogenesis and exploration of immunotherapeutic approaches in type-1 diabetes. Currently, he has three extramural research projects and a team of three research fellows and two PhD students in his lab. He has published over 140 papers, and has been granted a US patent.
He is the recipient of the “Chellaram Foundation Diabetes Research Award and Gold Medal” for the year 2019 besides a few other national and international awards. He is a member of various scientific societies and member, Editorial Board of World Journal of Immunology, Journal of Pediatric Endocrinology and reviewer of various prestigious academic journals. He is also a reviewer of R&D proposals for national funding agencies including, DST-SERB, CSIR and DBT.
