Dr. Soma Rohatgi is an Assistant Professor at BSBE Dept, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India. She did her Bachelors (B.Sc Honours) in Zoology from Delhi University in 2001 and her Masters (M.Sc) in Genetics from Department of Genetics, University of Delhi, South Campus in 2003. Dr Rohatgi pursued her PhD from National Institute of Immunology, JNU, New Delhi from 2003-2009. Her first Post-doctoral experience was at National Institute on Aging (NIH), Maryland, USA. She did her second Post-doctoral research at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, USA. Since December 2014, she has been employed as an Assistant Professor, working in Immunology, at IIT Roorkee.
Dr. Rohatgi has received Ramalingaswami Fellowship and has sponsored research grants from DBT and SERB, India. Her research interests lie in the area of vaccine research and passive immunotherapy using antibodies against various Infectious diseases. Her research group in ‘Molecular & Translational Immunology Lab’ at IIT Roorkee is currently focusing on Cryptococcal disease, non-albicans Candida species mediated systemic candidiasis, Chikungunya virus infections, and COVID-19 disease mediated by SARS-CoV-2 virus.
